You don\u2019t need to have a calm quite mind in order to meditate. In fact, meditation is designed to help you <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">create<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> a calm, quiet mind, even if you feel like your thoughts are constantly all over the place.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Check out these 7 simple steps to get started with your meditation practice, then give it a try and let us know what you think.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Step 1:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Find a quiet place where you can sit comfortably for at least 5 minutes, either in a chair, on the floor, in your bed \u2013 anywhere that works for you.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Step 2:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Sit up tall and be still.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Step 3:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Begin to relax, softening all the muscles in the body from head to toe. Don\u2019t forget to unclench your jaw <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\ud83d\ude09<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Step 4:\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Become aware of your breath, observing each inhale and exhale.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Step 5<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: If your mind starts wandering, just notice your thoughts, and then let them go, bringing your awareness back to your breath.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Step 6:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Continue for at least 5 minutes, coming back to your breath every time your mind starts to wander<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Step 7:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Repeat these steps every day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">See? Meditation\u00a0can be as simple as sitting still for 5 minutes and just focusing on your breath. Even if your mind is particularly active and seems to be jumping around, simply sitting down for 5 minutes and making an effort to bring your mind back to your breath, still counts as\u00a0meditation. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The best way to get the most out of a meditation practice is to do it every day, with consistency.
