How to do Half Pigeon Pose

Begin in a tabletop position with your hands directly under your shoulders and your knees directly below your hips.

Then bend one knee and slide it forward until it’s at a 90-degree angle, with the shin parallel to the top of the mat. The other leg should be extended behind you with your toes pointing back.

Now slowly lower your hips keeping your weight evenly distributed between both hips. If you need more support to keep your weight evenly distributed, you can place a block under your hips.

Place your hands on either side of your bent leg and press down into the floor to create more space in your hips.

Once you are in the pose, hold it for three to five breaths, then slowly come out of the pose and switch sides.

By practicing half pigeon pose regularly, you’ll be able to experience many of its benefits and reap the rewards of open hips! So grab your mat, find a tranquil spot, and get ready to reap the rewards of this relaxing pose!
