WEEKEND WORKSHOP July 22-23. A weekend to experience the Second Series of Ashtanga Yoga from a new perspective, or an opportunity to begin exploring its deep waters if you are new to the series. We will begin each day with a guided practice, exploring the fundamental postures from the inside out. We will apply alignment principles by balancing the internal form so the postures reveal an experience of presence and integration. During the afternoon workshops, we will discuss, question and reflect on the techniques we are applying in our practice; and consider how their residue shows up in our day to day lives. We will consider new and different ways of moving through the practice to support where we are in each moment. Some of the topics we will explore are backbends, therapeutic sequencing, the nervous system and the fascia, always tying our explorations back to a mindful yoga practice within the context of Ashtanga Yoga’s Intermediate Series. You do not need to have experience with the Second Series in particular to join this workshop but familiarity with Ashtanga’s Primary Series is recommended. No physical level is required. Different versions of the postures will be presented. *all registrants will receive access to recordings --SCHEDULE-- Saturday 10:00am -11:30am Guided Ashtanga Practice - Intro to Second Series 12:00am - 1:00pm Balancing Prana in Backbends. 1:00pm - 3:00pm Therapeutic sequencing for Second Series with Leni Scherer Sunday 10:00am - 11:30am Guided Ashtanga Second Series Practice 12:00am - 3:00pm Somatic Wisdom Applied to Second Series (with appropriate breaks between)
