Dive into the World of Ashtanga in a thoughtful manner. The class starts with sun salutations and the standing postures, followed by the seated asanas up to Janu Sirsasana. We will learn the count, learn to modify the poses if needed and how to use props in a way that they support our practice. So this class is very beginner friendly but also highly recommended for people who already have an existing ashtanga practice and don’t have much time. The finish sequence at the end of every class will help us to calm our nervous system and relax afterwards.

Angelique Sandas is a life long student of movement and the interconnectedness of mind body and spirit. It began with gymnastics and dance, initiating her love of movement, the body’s natural way of expressing ideas, emotions, and experiences. Angelique received her B.A. in dance from the University of Minnesota, graduating in 1999. It was during these years that she was first introduced to yoga. In yoga, Angelique's relationship with movement developed new depth and meaning. Movement became a path to profound inner transformation. She was inspired to share what she was learning and felt drawn to teach.  In 2003, Angelique traveled to Thailand to study with Paul Dallaghan in the Ashtanga yoga system as taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and received her teaching certification. She has also studied pranayama and yogic philosophy with Sri O.P. Tiwari of the Kaivalyadhama Institute, India and received advanced anatomy and adjustment training from David Keil. Until 2007, Angelique taught and practiced in Chicago. She then moved to Miami Beach where she worked closely in the Ashtanga method with her teacher and mentor Kino MacGregor as well as Tim Feldmann and Greg Nardi at Miami Life Center. Angelique ran the Mysore program at Shanti Yoga Shala in Philadelphia, PA in 2012 - 2013 and Delray Yoga Shala in Delray Beach, FL. 2014 - 2016. Currently, Angelique runs a Mysore program Ashtanga Yoga Palm Beach at Yoga Path Palm Beach in West Palm Beach, FL. She has had the opportunity to study with the Guru, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, and continues her training with his grandson, Sri R. Sharath Jois, in Mysore, India. During her 2011 visit to study in Mysore, India, Angelique received Authorization to teach Ashtanga Yoga from Sri R. Sharath Jois. She remains a dedicated instructor and a devoted student of yoga, growing into the potential of the spirit through it’s physical expression.

Made in Brazil with Mexican ingredients, Rosa Santana is a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher, and Certified Yoga Therapist by the International Association of Yoga Therapists. She has been studying, teaching, and propagating the therapeutic art of Iyengar Yoga and the teachings of Patanjali since 1995. She was drawn to the mental and physical discipline after suffering three accidental falls, one of which fractured her tailbone. Elizabeth is a retired dancer, active meditator and passionate yogi. She’s also a talented musician and inspiration for following one’s heart to achieve any goal or dream! 
Her journey into wellness didn’t come easy – as they rarely do.  She recalls a period during her college years where she was over-worked, overwhelmed with stress, and unable to sleep.  So much, she found she was often unfocused, disoriented, and living the life of an insomniac. 
Turning to meditation, a practice she learned early in life, she began to find relief.  Combined with practicing pranayama and silencing her mind each night, it was as if everything began to fall into place. Along with igniting her breath, she found the moving meditation of Vinyasa Style yoga to be the missing piece that connected her history of movement and music together. 
Like dance, it gave her an outlet to express her creativity and release any tensions, while increasing her energy and sense of well-being. 
Combining her love and talent for music, movement and meditation, she was able to find herself again.  And why she encourages her students to ‘let their breath be their music, and the music lead their movement.’ This mantra was her guide to self discovery, and one she openly shares with all. 
After three years of a dedicated practice, she watched her quality of life improve. Her fears and insecurities began to fade. She was, in her words “simply happier!” 
Taking her passion for yoga forward, she earned a 200hr certification in Vinyasa Power Yoga.  Along with teaching at SOL Yoga, she plans to further her practice and studies introducing yoga in new ways to the community, through inspiring music and powerful movement.

Joseph Armstrong's backbending workshop is more than just a practice. It's an opportunity to explore your backbending practice while developing the physical and mental strength needed to properly engage with backbends.

Joseph Armstrong teaches yoga rooted firmly in tradition but with an eye to the future. His search for a more present and peaceful life first led him to the practice in 2008. A few years later he was in India studying intensively.
After finally overcoming a long struggle with addiction, Joseph began experimenting with Ashtanga Yoga. He understood quickly that the lineage was calling to him to deepen his practice. He underwent a 2 year apprenticeship program at the world renowned Miami Life Center, continuing his education under his dear teachers Tim Fieldman and Kino MacGregor. More recently he has completed 2 months of study in Mysore under Sharath Jois.
Joseph teaches yoga because attempts to do any and everything else ended disastrously. But when he finally devoted himself to his passion, he became an asset to himself and others. He hopes his practice allows him to be ever more loving and to exist gently.

In addition to extensive practical training in the yoga tradition, Anamargret's teaching is strongly grounded in the Sri Vidya lineage.  She was initiated into the Himalayan Tantric lineage in 2003 by her Guru Yogarupa, Rod Stryker, founder of Para Yoga®, and is a Level 2 certified Para Yogini. She is on the faculty of the Himalayan Institute and is part of the Yoga International online yoga program. Barri was born to move. From childhood through her early adult life, she studied ballet intensively with renowned teachers across the US, Russia, and Israel. Barri received a BA in Dance at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA, and performed professionally with Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company in Israel and Dissonance Dance Theatre in Washington, DC. 
Barri discovered Yoga in high school, and started practicing regularly. It not only improved her balance, strength, and flexibility, but also taught her tools to calm her mind, love her body, and ease the stresses of daily life. She received her 200 hour certification from international Ashtanga Yoga teachers Kino MacGregor and Tim Feldmann at Miami Life Center. In December 2019, she traveled to Mysore, India, where she studied for an extended time under Ashtanga Yoga Paramaguru, Sharath Jois. Barri takes pride in not only dedicating her life to teaching, but also continually being a student.

Monica Arellano is a student and teacher of Ashtanga Yoga, pranayama and meditation practices. First connecting to yoga in 2010, she was naturally drawn to the movements of asana, their supporting philosophies, and a daily practice to reflect her lifelong inclination towards spirituality. Monica completed a 2-year Ashtanga Yoga apprenticeship with an emphasis on the mysore style method at Miami Life Center in 2018. I mostly played football and basketball in my early years with a little bit of track and field. Strengthening Yoga

Fortunately, we find strength and openness on the mat. Let’s explore that together, with the intention of taking those attributes off the mat as well.

Before I found yoga and began teaching, I was a wildlife biologist and environmental scientist. Serving the natural environment and helping to recover endangered species was my way of giving to a greater good. This is a concept that I've carried daily into a yogic lifestyle, both in teaching and in practice. I seek to serve this community in a way that supports strength, healing, and sustainability. After having multiple knee surgeries due to a car accident, I myself sought these qualities from my own encounter with yoga. I had to transition from contact sports like soccer to the safer and deeper space that the practice provides. 
A continuing student of Iyengar yoga, vinyasa, and meditation, I believe that awareness of breath, knowledge of the body, and mental focus on the mat lead to mindfulness and living harmoniously off the mat. I draw from my own experience and the study of human anatomy to offer a safe and grounded space for practitioners. I endeavor to help them explore their physical boundaries with a focus on intelligent alignment, awareness of breath, and steadying or relaxation of the mind. 
I have studied with Nikki Costello, Nikki Vilella, Magi Pierce, and other influential teachers. I am an ERYT-200 hour yoga alliance certified teacher with additional specialized trainings in anatomy, meditation and yoga nidra.

Ashtanga Yoga Full Primary in San Antonio

A 4-Class Live Progressive Series on September 13 & 27, October 18, November 1. This live series is designed for practitioners who know a portion of the Primary Series and want to refine how they move through it. We will explore the Primary Series as a practice of moving prāṇāyāma — where breath leads, steadiness stabilises, and ease is cultivated within effort. Across four progressive classes, we gradually build the sequence from its foundations to the full arc, refining not just alignment, but the inner experience of sthira and sukha.Rather than pushing for depth or performance, the emphasis is on continuity of breath, intelligent pacing, and the capacity to remain steady and receptive as intensity increases. As the sequence expands each week, you will develop greater sensitivity to how prāṇa moves through the practice — learning where to ground, where to soften, and how to sustain clarity from the first Sun Salute to the final rest.This is an invitation to experience the Primary Series not simply as a sequence of postures, but as an integrated breathing meditation in motion.

Between live classes, you’ll follow the accompanying pre-recorded program, Build an Ashtanga Practice – for a Body That Lasts, creating a complete immersion in both the precision and progressive development of the Primary Series.

Linda is the founder and lead teacher at the prestigious yoga school: Ashtanga Yoga Paris. She has been practicing yoga since 1995, teaching since 2002 and training teachers since 2008. Her teaching is inspired by her specialty in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. She is commited to sharing yoga in a manner that respects the individual and her teaching is infused with studies of anatomy, therapeutic yoga, yoga philosophy and western psychology. 

Linda took her first yoga class in 1995 in Toronto, Canada with Ron Reid. But a couple of months later she was in a fairly serious car accident and had to have physical therapy. This is when she decided to use the yoga as a way to compliment the therapy. Soon after she realized that the yoga would be a life time practice. A practice of asana, pranayama and meditation but also a practice of being truthful, a practice of being kind, a practice of being fearless, peaceful and happy. She believes that the practice of “yoga” is continuous; the practice does not stop when you roll up the yoga mat. The practice of yoga includes the way you live your life, the way you relate to your family, friends, co-workers and to the strangers on the street. This is the life long practice of developing yogic awareness.
In 1996 she moved to New York City with her work in the fashion business while continuing a daily ashtanga practice studying under Eddie Stern. The year 2000 brought her to Paris, France. After thirteen years in the world of fashion she decided it was the time to move fully into the direction she had been moving since her first yoga class.
She felt a strong desire to sincerely give to others what her teachers have given to her; so in 2002 she started teaching yoga as her own study and practice continued. Gerald and Linda opened Ashtanga Paris in February 2004.
She studied yogic scriptures and philosophy, having completed a 250 hour study program of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra, and a 120 hour course on the Bhagavad Gita under the supervision of Georg Feuerstein. She was one of his 10 mentoring students until he passed away in 2012. Linda is also a student of Sri O.P. Tiwari and is certified by him to teach pranayama. As well she has completed the anatomy for yoga training with Leslie Kaminoff and is a junior yoga anatomy trainer. Not to mention she has studied with the late guru of Ashtanga Yoga, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in Mysore, India and NYC.

Dr. Mariel Little is a lifelong lover of movement. She started a long career as an athlete at a young age and won multiple national titles in martial arts and volleyball. Yoga entered her life serendipitously in 2007 at a time when she needed it most, depleted from the rigors of a competitive lifestyle. She quickly became a dedicated student and studied with many wise teachers across different styles of practice. Mariel began teaching yoga after completing her first teacher training in 2013. Since then, she has participated in numerous other trainings, but she is most grateful for the opportunity to study with Richard Freeman & Mary Taylor in July 2022.

Inspired by the healing power of the yoga practice, Mariel completed a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from University of Colorado School of Medicine in 2019. Since then, she intentionally incorporates her skills as a yoga instructor into her work as a Physical Therapist, including yoga classes for specific populations with medical conditions. Outside of her full-time work as a PT, Mariel continues to teach and study yoga. She is the founder of the Sangha Yoga Project and runs a private physical therapy practice specializing in yoga-related injuries and pain. Mariel's yoga classes regularly integrate concepts of physical therapy so that students build strength and mobility for a more confident and resilient yoga practice. Active Align Yoga

Restorative Yoga invites you to really slow down and give your body and nervous system time to unwind. Using bolsters, blankets and cushions, you’ll be guided into a series of fully supported & comfortable poses that allow you to completely relax, rest and recover. Unlike Yin Yoga, there is no intention to stretch or create sensation. With no muscular effort required, the practice helps the nervous system shift out of constant doing and settle into a state of deep rest and healing. We’ll be holding poses for 5-20 min. Perfect for days when you feel tired, stressed or simply need a moment to pause and recharge. No previous yoga experience is needed; this class is suitable for all levels.

Vanessa is a 500h RYT Yoga instructor who has shared her passion for yoga and teaching since 2015. Vanessa is a dedicated Ashtanga practitioner who believes in the value of incorporating Yin into her practice. She is also trained in Hot Yoga & Yin Yoga and received both 200hr and 300hr teacher training certifications from Tim Feldmann & Kino MacGregor through Miami Life Center. 
It truly nourishes her soul to help people reconnect with their true selves and with their bodies. It keeps her humble and grateful. For Vanessa, Yoga is not something that she does, rather it is who she is and how she tries to live her life. She loves to teach beginners yoga as it reminds her of her own journey. She hosts yoga retreats around the world.

Restorative Yoga

Tatiana Uprimny began her journey into yoga in May 2016 and from her very first class she felt a subtle shift inside, as though she had found a missing piece of her puzzle. In March 2017, she was introduced to Ashtanga and that piece finally fit. By January 2018 she had taken MLC’s Ashtanga Intensive Course and thru her devotional approach to her practice she came to understand how important it is to listen to your inner voice in all aspects of life, and how this voice is always guiding us from a deep and intuitive knowledge we all have and can tap into. This message has become her focal point when guiding practitioners thru their practice, always remembering that the essence of yoga is what we do when we find ourselves off our mat.

Join Monica in an exploration of the fundamentals of Ashtanga. Learn how to link breath and concentration to movement and postures. Each class will have a slightly different focus within Ashtanga’s intelligent sequencing. Take a closer look at technique, movement mechanics, and tools that are the essence of this method. Emilia, originally from Colombia, began her yoga journey when her mother invited her to a class. Captivated by the depth of breath and the body’s ability to move in such transformative ways, she explored different styles of Vinyasa Yoga until she discovered Ashtanga.



With an athletic background and many years of teaching fitness, Emilia immediately fell in love with Ashtanga’s discipline and its use of the body as a tool for transformation. Her path led her to Miami, where she devoted herself fully to the practice under the guidance of Kino MacGregor, Tim Feldmann, and Greg Nardi at Miami Life Center, eventually completing their apprenticeship program. She also deepened her studies with several trips to India.



Alongside yoga, Emilia pursued fitness studies to better understand body mechanics and the importance of strength training for a sustainable practice. This inspired her to create her Wholesome Training—a program that blends resistance-based strength work with Ashtanga-inspired sequences, combining physical vitality with inner awareness.



Her mission is to guide students toward strength, balance, and self-compassion—helping them cultivate a kinder relationship with themselves and, in turn, with those around them.

Wholesome Training

Join Cory Bryant every Wednesday for a simple and supportive meditation practice rooted in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. We begin with a brief reflection on the Four Mind Turnings, followed by refuge and bodhicitta prayers and a lightly guided meditation. Open to practitioners of all backgrounds, this weekly gathering offers an opportunity to cultivate awareness, compassion, and a deeper connection to your innate wisdom and goodness.

In 2009 after teaching a yoga class in Washington, DC a student approached and asked Cory if he would like to be the yoga teacher on a 10-day trip to Nepal. He accepted the offer on the spot and in 2010 went on his first Nepal adventure. It changed the course of his life. 

Fast forward to 2019 and he has resigned from a “successful” career as a PhD Scientist/International Policy Expert at the FDA and moved to Nashville to open a yoga studio (Yoga Shala Nashville). In the interim years (between 2010 - 2017) he returned to Nepal four more times to co-lead this pilgrimage – each time taking on a bigger role. Then covid happened and travel plans were stalled. It was during that time that he was given the opportunity to take over, rebranding as The Spiritual Pilgrim. In 2022, after the covid hiatus, pilgrimages resumed and now TSP has expanded to offer multiple pilgrimages each year — including to India and Bhutan!

Cory is a highly experienced (20+ years) yoga teacher and meditator. He is honored to serve as the pilgrimage leader, meditation teacher (and sometimes yoga teacher) for TSP programs. He guides in the style of the Tergar tradition of Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche and is continually working to develop his own practice and teaching skills.  He is a member of the 2024-5 class of the Tergar Meditation Teacher Program.

Meditation Practice with The Spiritual Pilgrim

Back in the early 90’s when our original Yoga Workshop studio was a few years old, we started offering Studio Talks on Sunday evenings after the packed Mysore class. We never knew for sure whether there would be a talk, though usually as we rolled up our mats and wiped sweat from the floor you’d hear Richard’s voice quietly saying, “In fifteen minutes, there will be a talk…if anyone is here.” They grew from 10-20 in attendance to close to 100 at times as word spread that the talks were interesting, often funny and always free. And best of all, you didn’t have to practice yoga to join in.

When the pandemic hit in 2020 we started offering Studio Talks live online and these too have grown into a monthly online gathering of sangha members from around the world. We cover foundational yoga teachings and paradoxes in context of modern life and for those who join live, we always stick around for questions.

Richard Freeman has been a student of yoga since 1968. He spent nine years in Asia studying yoga āsana, prāṇāyāma, Sufism, Sanskrit language, and Indian philosophy. He has studied asana with B.K.S. Iyengar and K. Pattabhi Jois and has worked with numerous Buddhist teachers to draw insights into the interfacing of Buddhism and yoga as a reflection of life. Richard’s metaphorical, humorous, teaching style appeals to students of many backgrounds and nationalities.

Mary Taylor began studying yoga in 1971 and her studies have grown into a deep interest into how yoga asana, meditation and the interfacing of yoga with Buddhism combine to support us through complex modern times. Her main asana practice is in the internal forms of the ashtanga vinyasa tradition. She is part of the core faculty of the Being with Dying program at Upaya Zen Center and the senior faculty for the UZIT training program, both of which apply contemplative practices to improved and sustainable wellness within medical settings.

Vinyasa + Drills

This class is open to all levels of students who are looking to close their day with inner awareness and a refreshing sense of joy. The class begins with a moon salutation that will bring balance the body with peaceful movements and reflection. The standing sequence links together with less chaturangas (yogi push ups), so the energy can be directed into a creative flow on your mat. In each class there will be a dedicated time to focus on inversions at the wall. Whether you’d like to work on headstand (sirsasana), forearm stand (pincha mayurasana), or handstand, this class with help you meet your goals. For the student who is looking for a more restorative practice, blocks and bolsters will allow the student to achieve a relaxing inversion with their legs resting at the wall. Nadi Shodana and seated postures will mark the closing of class, followed by a restful savasana and meditation. Join this class to cultivate your inner vibration and balance the energies of effort and contemplation. Open level.

Shannon Sollars-White is a movement artist and educator whose search for truth consciousness and bliss is discovered through Ashtanga yoga. 
Sollars-White first experienced the Ashtanga Primary series with Kino MacGregor in 2022, a moment that initiated what she immediately knew would be a lifelong journey of this practice. Her earliest yogic experiences were practicing tantric meditations and vinyasa with Tara Glazier, which awakened Sollars-White’s onto a path of self-realization. She remains committed to being a student, maintaining a traditional daily Mysore practice, and accruing nearly 1,000 hours of yoga teacher training in Vinyasa Krama, Ashtanga, Tantra, yin, restorative, yoga therapeutics, and aerial yoga. 
Sollars-White’s movement journey started with classical and contemporary dance from a young age. She is an alumna of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in contemporary dance. She trained in aerial hoop and contortion with coaches in New York and Montreal and created an acrobatic dance act that she performed in various cities throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Whether demonstrating on Omstars or teaching classes at Miami Life Center, Sollars-White remains rooted in svadyaya, or self study. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of General Studies at the University of Miami with concentrations in sports medicine and religious studies.

Wind Down Vinyasa

Mobilize your breath, body, and mind in this yoga flow full of receptive alignment, conscious mobility work, and synchronized with the breath. This practice primarily includes yoga, and also incorporates mobility drills, breathwork, and thoughtful approaches to being receptive in body, heart, and mind.

I am grounded in a daily Mysore and Dharma yoga practice. I also love and train hand balancing, rock climbing, and dance; all of it is intuitive movement. It's all love. I am happy to offer yoga classes, movement retreats, workshops, and intensives in the United States, Bali, Costa Rica, Mexico, India, Europe, and the Caribbean.
My life calling and practice has led me to travel the world and immerse myself fully in yoga and meditation through villages in India, Indonesia, Portugal, the crisp blue Caribbean waters, and the heart of Miami Beach. With extensive training as a Psychologist in Social Emotional Development (Ph.D.), Women’s Studies (Graduate Certificate), Reiki, Magnified Healing, and Oneness Awakening, my classes utilize a keen awareness of the intellectual, emotional, and energetic body to empower those who practice consistently, for a long period of time, with devotion. Mindful Mobility

This 90-minute class explores the major themes and sequences of Vinyasa Krama. This lineage-based method of yoga synchronizes breath and movement through systematic and progressive sequences.

This class teaches students how to practice yoga as a complete system that integrates asana (posture), pranayama (breath regulation), meditation, mantra, and classical philosophy. Through systematic sequencing and progressive variations of postures, students will learn how to practice in a way that is comfortable, steady, and appropriate for their individual needs.

Vinyasa Krama follows the tradition of T. Krishnamacharya, as preserved and transmitted by Srivatsa Ramaswami after more than 33 years of direct study under his guidance. Whether you are new to Vinyasa Krama or looking to deepen your understanding of this tradition, this class offers a welcoming space to cultivate a sustainable yoga practice that can grow with you over time.

E-RYT® 500 and YACEP® through Yoga Alliance

When Lauren was 12 years old, her sister gave her a Krishna Das CD. She learned the mantra Hare Krishna and would sing it all the time because she thought it was beautiful. She didn't know it at the time, but that was her first yoga practice.

Years later, she completed an internship that took her to Vrindavan, India, where she worked with widows. They invited her to chant with them, and to her surprise, she already knew the words because she had learned Hare Krishna from before. That experience showed her how mantra and Sanskrit bring people together in shared practice, even when they don't speak the same language.

In 2016, a friend invited her to an Ashtanga Yoga class. She had no idea what to expect, but she remembers when they sang the opening mantra that it sounded long and beautiful. It was the first time she saw yoga as a complete system. She saw how mantra, breath, movement, and focus were all integrated, and she's been practicing yoga ever since.

At first, some of the poses felt very difficult in her body. She learned to use props and pose variations to grow her practice. At times, she noticed that the way she did things looked different from the way other people were doing them. Through this, she learned self-acceptance and discovered how variations deepened her practice.

She was fortunate to have teachers who were knowledgeable about the tradition of yoga and how it applied to her. Her teachers saw potential in her long before she could see it in herself, and there were many moments when they literally held her up. Their examples have shaped not only how she practices, but also how she wants to teach.

Her intention is that her students leave class feeling more connected to themselves, and with an appreciation for yoga as a lifelong path of study, self-discovery, and service.

She's spent the majority of her yoga studies in Ashtanga Yoga, therapeutic applications of yoga, and Vinyasa Krama. She is an E-RYT® 500 and YACEP® through Yoga Alliance. In 2026, she completed the 100-hour Advanced Vinyasa Krama Teacher Training with Srivatsa Ramaswami. She has a bachelor's degree in Peace and Conflict Studies with minors in Russian and Political Science. Influential teachers she has studied with include Srivatsa Ramaswami, B.N.S. Iyengar, Arun Deva, Kino MacGregor, Tim Feldmann, David Swenson, Ajay Kumar, Dana Baptiste, Todd McLaughlin, and Tamara McLaughlin.

Vinyasa Krama

A slower-paced vinyasa flow that blends traditional asanas with breath and movement to awaken the senses and reconnect to pleasure in the body. Expect a mindful, exploratory practice followed by grounding breathwork and a soothing sound bath in savasana.

Jamaal L. Starks, affectionately known as Porcelain, is a unique Miami native whose journey has seamlessly intertwined personal passion with professional advocacy. His introduction to yoga began in 2006, sparked by an exploration of transcendental meditation while navigating a successful corporate career in the aviation industry. 

In the wake of the global climate shift in 2020, Jamaal made a pivotal decision to step away from the corporate world to pursue his authentic interests. Through a deepened commitment to yoga, he discovered a sense of community and purpose at the Miami Life Center, where he played a vital role in establishing The Queer Yoga Club. This experience not only enriched his practice but also allowed him to engage with yoga in various forms.

In 2024, Jamaal completed the Ashtanga Practitioner Intensive, earning his teacher's certification and enhancing his skills in yoga. Today, he is well-versed in tarot, energy work, and sound healing, which he integrates into his holistic approach to wellness.

Beyond personal practice, Jamaal is a passionate advocate for the wellness and rights of the BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities. He actively contributes to this mission by serving on three community boards, including as President of the Miami Chapter of Impulse Group Miami—one of the largest LGBTQ social groups. Additionally, he holds the position of Director at The Legacy Builders Consultant Group Inc., and serves on the Board of the Men of Color Health for ViiV Healthcare. His commitment to advocacy extends to media, where he anchors Queer News Tonight for Happening Out TV Network.

Jamaal's journey reflects a harmonious blend of personal growth, community engagement, and unwavering support for marginalized voices, making him a cherished figure in the Miami wellness and LGBTQ+ communities.

In his teachings, Jamaal emphasizes the practice of embodiment through the avenue of sensuality. He encourages listeners to tune into their bodies, using breath to access pleasure and release blockages, ultimately guiding them on a grounded path to wellness. With an unwavering commitment to fostering inclusivity and healing, Jamaal champions the rights and well-being of diverse communities, making a lasting impact in the realms of wellness and social justice.

Sensual Flow Vinyasa

Silvana Lois completed her first 200 hours of teacher training in power yoga with Paul Toliuszis in 2012. Soon after, she fell in love with the Ashtanga Yoga Method and completed another 200 hours of training under Tim Feldmann and Kino MacGregor. Continuing under the teachers of Miami Life Center, she then went on to complete the 2 year apprenticeship. Silvana also has a daily meditation practice after completing a 10 day Vipassana course in 2019. Silvana is currently a student and teacher of Ashtanga Yoga at Miami Life Center.

Saturday Ritual: Full Primary + Talk

This class is specially designed for yogis who want to build strength and endurance to support and deepen their yoga practice.

We’ll begin with 45 minutes of strength training using weights or resistance bands to develop stability, power, and overall support for the body.

Right after, we’ll flow into a 45-minute yoga sequence inspired by Ashtanga, allowing the body to stretch, release tension, and find balance after the strengthening portion.

Please bring a couple of dumbbells or resistance bands, and of course, your yoga mat.

Dive into the transformative experience of our Slow Deep Juicy Vinyasa class! In this 90-minute session, you'll embark on a journey of strength, creativity, and mindful alignment. Expect to explore intermediate breathwork techniques while delving into postures like arm binding, arm balancing, inversions, and invigorating hip openers, twists, and backbends. Whether you're an experienced yogi or an active beginner, all are welcome to join and discover new sensations in your body.

Meet Terri Cooper Space (she/her), a yoga instructor with a passion for breakthrough moments. Since 2003, Terri has been guiding students through yoga practices, emphasizing the importance of connection and trauma-informed teaching. As the Founder of Connection Coalition, a non-profit certifying individuals nationwide as Trauma Informed Connectors, Terri extends her expertise beyond the studio, teaching in jails, shelters, rehabs, and youth centers. Based in North Miami, Terri, along with her husband, daughter, and furry friends, is the proud owner of 305 Yoga, a humble studio empowering regular people since 2006.

Foundational Yoga Drills

Esmeralda Lamas began her yoga journey in 2008. She connected with the practice of yoga looking for acceptance during a complicated time in her life. She completed the 2 year apprenticeship with Miami Life Center under Tim Feldmann. Esme continues to travel regularly to Mysore, India to learn directly from the source of Ashtanga Yoga. In Esme’s classes you will find traditional Sanskrit counting with verbal adjustments emphasizing alignment, breath and drishti.

Allow Vanessa to take you on a blissful 60-minute Yin Yoga journey. Slow down, relax, and enjoy all the benefits that this slower, more passive form of yoga has to offer. This class involves mostly seated & supine postures that passively stretch the body to release tension in the connective tissues and joints. Props such as pillows, blankets, bolsters, and blocks are recommended for this class.

Yin Bliss

Refining the Ashtanga Primary Series

The Four Immeasurables—equanimity, loving-kindness, compassion, and empathetic joy—are qualities of the heart that Buddhism teaches us to cultivate without limit or exception. Together, they offer a practical path for meeting ourselves, others, and the world with greater openness, wisdom, and care.

In this four-week course, we will explore each immeasurable through teachings, reflection, discussion, and guided meditation, with special emphasis on equanimity, or impartiality. Equanimity is not indifference or emotional distance. It is the steady, spacious mind that allows us to care without being governed by attachment, aversion, or bias.

By beginning with equanimity, we create a strong foundation for the other three qualities. We learn to extend kindness beyond those we naturally favor, to remain present with suffering without becoming overwhelmed, and to rejoice in the happiness and good fortune of others without comparison or jealousy.

Each week will focus on one of the Four Immeasurables: Equanimity, Loving-kindness, Compassion, and Empathetic joy.

These practices are not about manufacturing particular emotions or becoming endlessly agreeable. They help us uncover a more balanced and inclusive way of relating—one that can gradually extend beyond our usual divisions of friend, stranger, and difficult person.

No previous experience with Buddhism or meditation is required. Everyone is welcome.

Boundless Heart: The Four Immeasurables

In this class we start with kriyas (cleansing exercises) that facilitate smooth, deep breathing and then we explore different pranayama exercises. This part of the class is about 25 minutes. The second part of the class is a guided Ashtanga practice (open to all levels except beginners). The class is mostly flowing through select postures of the primary series with moments of workshop style breakdowns for particular poses or actions – how to do them with anatomical alignment, using props or variations to promote health, healing and mindfulness within the Ashtanga practice.

Ashtanga & Pranayama

Anna is a YA E-RYT with over 10,000 hours of teaching experience, based in Stuttgart, Southern Germany. She fell in love with yoga over 20 years ago. Anna became a yoga teacher in 2013, and two years later, she opened her very own yoga studio in the heart of Stuttgart. While her main teachings are focused on Ashtanga, she also teaches Vinyasa, Yin, and Therapeutic Yoga. Her heart beats for Ashtanga, and it is her main focus for her practice. That is why she did the API with Miami Life Center and the AT with Kino MacGregor and Tim Feldmann. She is also the headteacher of her own 200- and 300-hour teacher training. Anna's classes are deeply rooted in the traditions of yoga but also heartwarming and funny. Anna thinks that having a good time with yourself on the mat is way more important than mastering a pose.

Paige discovered yoga while cross-training for the Marine Corps Marathon over 13 ago, and has been practicing daily ever since. She soon found that yoga brings life into balance; it energizes, while grounding; it strengthens, while limbering; it encourages, while humbling; it is external, yet every bit internal. She has studied with Sharath Jois, Kino MacGregor, Tim Feldmann, Dena Kingsberg, David Robson, Jelena Vesic, Pedro Rubio, Maryl Baldridge, Jen Rene, & Michael Joel Hall (Ashtanga), David Kyle (Rocket), and Mimi Rieger (Power Vinyasa). She's been a daily Mysore-Style Ashtanga practitioner and teacher for 10 years, channeling many of the lessons learned on her mat while teaching.
