Emilia, originally from Colombia, began her yoga journey when her mother invited her to a class. Captivated by the depth of breath and the body’s ability to move in such transformative ways, she explored different styles of Vinyasa Yoga until she discovered Ashtanga.



With an athletic background and many years of teaching fitness, Emilia immediately fell in love with Ashtanga’s discipline and its use of the body as a tool for transformation. Her path led her to Miami, where she devoted herself fully to the practice under the guidance of Kino MacGregor, Tim Feldmann, and Greg Nardi at Miami Life Center, eventually completing their apprenticeship program. She also deepened her studies with several trips to India.



Alongside yoga, Emilia pursued fitness studies to better understand body mechanics and the importance of strength training for a sustainable practice. This inspired her to create her Wholesome Training—a program that blends resistance-based strength work with Ashtanga-inspired sequences, combining physical vitality with inner awareness.



Her mission is to guide students toward strength, balance, and self-compassion—helping them cultivate a kinder relationship with themselves and, in turn, with those around them.

Made in Brazil with Mexican ingredients, Rosa Santana is a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher, and Certified Yoga Therapist by the International Association of Yoga Therapists. She has been studying, teaching, and propagating the therapeutic art of Iyengar Yoga and the teachings of Patanjali since 1995. She was drawn to the mental and physical discipline after suffering three accidental falls, one of which fractured her tailbone. Since healing her back, neck and sciatica pains, she has introduced yoga to thousands of students who had never experienced this healing art, philosophy, and science.  
In 2001, she founded Yogarosa, in the Miami area, which has become a respected yoga studio in the classical teachings of Iyengar Yoga. She has hosted numerous internationally recognized teachers and continues to teach and mentor yoga students and teachers.  
She has had the privilege of studying directly with Yoga Master BKS Iyengar, and the Iyengar family in India and the US on numerous occasions. She continues to learn from the Iyengars as well as Senior Level teachers in the US and abroad. Her interest in the philosophy of yoga has been deepened by Professor Edwin Bryant. 
Rosa has presented the benefits of Iyengar Yoga as a Guest lecturer at Nova Southeastern University, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society of South Florida and Puerto Rico, and the National Parkinson’s Foundation. Elizabeth is a retired dancer, active meditator and passionate yogi. She’s also a talented musician and inspiration for following one’s heart to achieve any goal or dream! 
Her journey into wellness didn’t come easy – as they rarely do.  She recalls a period during her college years where she was over-worked, overwhelmed with stress, and unable to sleep.  So much, she found she was often unfocused, disoriented, and living the life of an insomniac. 
Turning to meditation, a practice she learned early in life, she began to find relief.  Combined with practicing pranayama and silencing her mind each night, it was as if everything began to fall into place. Along with igniting her breath, she found the moving meditation of Vinyasa Style yoga to be the missing piece that connected her history of movement and music together. 
Like dance, it gave her an outlet to express her creativity and release any tensions, while increasing her energy and sense of well-being. 
Combining her love and talent for music, movement and meditation, she was able to find herself again.  And why she encourages her students to ‘let their breath be their music, and the music lead their movement.’ This mantra was her guide to self discovery, and one she openly shares with all. 
After three years of a dedicated practice, she watched her quality of life improve. Her fears and insecurities began to fade. She was, in her words “simply happier!” 
Taking her passion for yoga forward, she earned a 200hr certification in Vinyasa Power Yoga.  Along with teaching at SOL Yoga, she plans to further her practice and studies introducing yoga in new ways to the community, through inspiring music and powerful movement.

Joseph Armstrong's backbending workshop is more than just a practice. It's an opportunity to explore your backbending practice while developing the physical and mental strength needed to properly engage with backbends.

Joseph Armstrong teaches yoga rooted firmly in tradition but with an eye to the future. His search for a more present and peaceful life first led him to the practice in 2008. A few years later he was in India studying intensively.
After finally overcoming a long struggle with addiction, Joseph began experimenting with Ashtanga Yoga. He understood quickly that the lineage was calling to him to deepen his practice. He underwent a 2 year apprenticeship program at the world renowned Miami Life Center, continuing his education under his dear teachers Tim Fieldman and Kino MacGregor. More recently he has completed 2 months of study in Mysore under Sharath Jois.
Joseph teaches yoga because attempts to do any and everything else ended disastrously. But when he finally devoted himself to his passion, he became an asset to himself and others. He hopes his practice allows him to be ever more loving and to exist gently.

Among Miami's most experienced and sought-after yoga teachers, Anamargret is a global citizen of Jamaican, Cuban, and German heritage. She is a dedicated teacher and student of the yoga tradition, and has been blessed to study with many respected teachers, including Rod Stryker, creator of Para Yoga, Manorama, founder of Sanskrit Studies, T.K.V. Desikachar, Leslie Kaminoff, Marlysa Sullivan, and Judith Lasater.  
 
Anamargret’s interest in understanding human bodies in their material and social contexts extends to the arts. She has been active in the performance art scene in New York City, where she performed in historic art spaces like Dixon Place and P.S. 122.  She cofounded the performance art group Coco Frio with Jose Muñoz and Rebecca Sumner-Burgos, and has worked with internationally known performance artist Carmelita Tropicana and dancer Julie Tolentino, as well as with renowned actor and director Cheryl Dunye in the groundbreaking film The Watermelon Woman. She is also an avid traveler and reader.
In addition to extensive practical training in the yoga tradition, Anamargret's teaching is strongly grounded in the Sri Vidya lineage.  She was initiated into the Himalayan Tantric lineage in 2003 by her Guru Yogarupa, Rod Stryker, founder of Para Yoga®, and is a Level 2 certified Para Yogini. She is on the faculty of the Himalayan Institute and is part of the Yoga International online yoga program. She happily leads meditation and yoga classes, workshops, retreats, and teacher training programs, and has trained many yoga teachers in the U.S. as well as internationally.

Barri was born to move. From childhood through her early adult life, she studied ballet intensively with renowned teachers across the US, Russia, and Israel. Barri received a BA in Dance at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA, and performed professionally with Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company in Israel and Dissonance Dance Theatre in Washington, DC. 
Barri discovered Yoga in high school, and started practicing regularly. It not only improved her balance, strength, and flexibility, but also taught her tools to calm her mind, love her body, and ease the stresses of daily life. She received her 200 hour certification from international Ashtanga Yoga teachers Kino MacGregor and Tim Feldmann at Miami Life Center. In December 2019, she traveled to Mysore, India, where she studied for an extended time under Ashtanga Yoga Paramaguru, Sharath Jois. Barri takes pride in not only dedicating her life to teaching, but also continually being a student.

Monica Arellano is a student and teacher of Ashtanga Yoga, pranayama and meditation practices. First connecting to yoga in 2010, she was naturally drawn to the movements of asana, their supporting philosophies, and a daily practice to reflect her lifelong inclination towards spirituality. Monica completed a 2-year Ashtanga Yoga apprenticeship with an emphasis on the mysore style method at Miami Life Center in 2018. After making multiple trips to India, she received a formal blessing to teach from R. Sharath Jois. More recently she completed a yearlong philosophy immersion with Ty Landrum, a month-long teacher’s intensive with Richard Freeman and Mary Taylor and an adjustment intensive with David Swenson. Being a student of yoga is a never-ending journey that keeps her connected to herself, others, and a desire to share this practice. I have been into sports and training since I could walk. Raised right here in Orlando Florida I know all about how training in the heat can really help your results happen faster. I mostly played football and basketball in my early years with a little bit of track and field. I have done speed training and strength training and now I am a certified Vinyasa Yoga teacher with over 200 hours study of Anatomy and Alignment. I also practice and teach acro yoga. I'm all about meeting people where they are in fitness and helping them reach their goals while finding a way to enjoy the process.

Before I found yoga and began teaching, I was a wildlife biologist and environmental scientist. Serving the natural environment and helping to recover endangered species was my way of giving to a greater good. This is a concept that I've carried daily into a yogic lifestyle, both in teaching and in practice. I seek to serve this community in a way that supports strength, healing, and sustainability. After having multiple knee surgeries due to a car accident, I myself sought these qualities from my own encounter with yoga. I had to transition from contact sports like soccer to the safer and deeper space that the practice provides. 
A continuing student of Iyengar yoga, vinyasa, and meditation, I believe that awareness of breath, knowledge of the body, and mental focus on the mat lead to mindfulness and living harmoniously off the mat. I draw from my own experience and the study of human anatomy to offer a safe and grounded space for practitioners. I endeavor to help them explore their physical boundaries with a focus on intelligent alignment, awareness of breath, and steadying or relaxation of the mind. 
I have studied with Nikki Costello, Nikki Vilella, Magi Pierce, and other influential teachers. I am an ERYT-200 hour yoga alliance certified teacher with additional specialized trainings in anatomy, meditation and yoga nidra.

Edgar Navarro is the Director of Miami Life Center, a dedicated Ashtanga
practitioner and teacher whose path has been shaped by years of study under
some of the most respected names in modern yoga. A direct student of
Paramaguru Sharath Jois, Edgar’s teaching is rooted in the traditional
Ashtanga method as it continues to be transmitted from Mysore, India. He
has also studied extensively under Tim Feldmann and Kino MacGregor, whose
mentorship helped refine both his personal practice and his approach to
sharing the method with others.
With a deep commitment to the breath as the bridge between body and mind,
Edgar has studied Pranayama for many years under the guidance of Mark
Linksman—a long-time student of Tim Miller. This subtle yet powerful practice
informs much of his teaching, offering students tools to deepen awareness,
balance the nervous system, and access inner stillness.
Complementing his strong foundation in Ashtanga, Edgar is also trained in Yin
Yoga under Jo Phee, a senior student of Paul Grilley. His Yin classes offer a
meditative counterpoint to the dynamic structure of Ashtanga, inviting
students into deep release and introspection through long-held, supported
postures.

Vinyasakrama yoga consists of practising asanas with a variety of interrelated breath oriented movements called vinyasas. This was learnt by Srivatsa Ramaswami (87) from the legendary Guru Sri Krishnamacharya over a period of several years.

Srivatsa Ramaswami was a student of Sri Krishnamacharya for over 30 years. He
studied from when he was 15 until almost the last days of his Guru. He had only one
teacher and studied vinyasakrama yoga, various texts such as the Gita, yoga sutras,
several upanishad vidyas, chanting of the complete Aranyaka and upanishad portions of
yajur veda all from Krishnamacharya.. Has recorded for Sangeeta a recording company
nearly 30 sanskrit titles as Sundara kanda, Aswamedha, Taittiriya upanishad,
Mahanarayana Upanishad. Has authored five books including Complete book of
Vinyasa Yoga, Samkhya karika and others.
Written more than 200 short articles in his monthly newsletters. Taught at Kalakshetra
India for nearly 20 years and in summer for about 15 years at Loyola Marymount
University Los Angeles. Has taught 100 and 200 hour Teacher Training programs in
different places in India, UK, Europe, Canada, S America and USA

Jamaal L. Starks, affectionately known as Porcelain, is a unique Miami native whose journey has seamlessly intertwined personal passion with professional advocacy. His introduction to yoga began in 2006, sparked by an exploration of transcendental meditation while navigating a successful corporate career in the aviation industry. 

In the wake of the global climate shift in 2020, Jamaal made a pivotal decision to step away from the corporate world to pursue his authentic interests. Through a deepened commitment to yoga, he discovered a sense of community and purpose at the Miami Life Center, where he played a vital role in establishing The Queer Yoga Club. This experience not only enriched his practice but also allowed him to engage with yoga in various forms.

In 2024, Jamaal completed the Ashtanga Practitioner Intensive, earning his teacher's certification and enhancing his skills in yoga. Today, he is well-versed in tarot, energy work, and sound healing, which he integrates into his holistic approach to wellness.

Beyond personal practice, Jamaal is a passionate advocate for the wellness and rights of the BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities. He actively contributes to this mission by serving on three community boards, including as President of the Miami Chapter of Impulse Group Miami—one of the largest LGBTQ social groups. Additionally, he holds the position of Director at The Legacy Builders Consultant Group Inc., and serves on the Board of the Men of Color Health for ViiV Healthcare. His commitment to advocacy extends to media, where he anchors Queer News Tonight for Happening Out TV Network.

Sensual Flow Vinyasa

In this class we start with kriyas (cleansing exercises) that facilitate smooth, deep breathing and then we explore different pranayama exercises. This part of the class is about 25 minutes. The second part of the class is a guided Ashtanga practice (open to all levels except beginners). The class is mostly flowing through select postures of the primary series with moments of workshop style breakdowns for particular poses or actions – how to do them with anatomical alignment, using props or variations to promote health, healing and mindfulness within the Ashtanga practice.

Linda is the founder and lead teacher at the prestigious yoga school: Ashtanga Yoga Paris. She has been practicing yoga since 1995, teaching since 2002 and training teachers since 2008. Her teaching is inspired by her specialty in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. She is commited to sharing yoga in a manner that respects the individual and her teaching is infused with studies of anatomy, therapeutic yoga, yoga philosophy and western psychology. 

Linda took her first yoga class in 1995 in Toronto, Canada with Ron Reid. But a couple of months later she was in a fairly serious car accident and had to have physical therapy. This is when she decided to use the yoga as a way to compliment the therapy. Soon after she realized that the yoga would be a life time practice. A practice of asana, pranayama and meditation but also a practice of being truthful, a practice of being kind, a practice of being fearless, peaceful and happy. She believes that the practice of “yoga” is continuous; the practice does not stop when you roll up the yoga mat. The practice of yoga includes the way you live your life, the way you relate to your family, friends, co-workers and to the strangers on the street. This is the life long practice of developing yogic awareness.
In 1996 she moved to New York City with her work in the fashion business while continuing a daily ashtanga practice studying under Eddie Stern. The year 2000 brought her to Paris, France. After thirteen years in the world of fashion she decided it was the time to move fully into the direction she had been moving since her first yoga class.
She felt a strong desire to sincerely give to others what her teachers have given to her; so in 2002 she started teaching yoga as her own study and practice continued. Gerald and Linda opened Ashtanga Paris in February 2004.
She studied yogic scriptures and philosophy, having completed a 250 hour study program of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra, and a 120 hour course on the Bhagavad Gita under the supervision of Georg Feuerstein. She was one of his 10 mentoring students until he passed away in 2012. Linda is also a student of Sri O.P. Tiwari and is certified by him to teach pranayama. As well she has completed the anatomy for yoga training with Leslie Kaminoff and is a junior yoga anatomy trainer. Not to mention she has studied with the late guru of Ashtanga Yoga, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in Mysore, India and NYC.

Ashtanga & Pranayama

This class is specially designed for yogis who want to build strength and endurance to support and deepen their yoga practice.

We’ll begin with 45 minutes of strength training using weights or resistance bands to develop stability, power, and overall support for the body.

Right after, we’ll flow into a 45-minute yoga sequence inspired by Ashtanga, allowing the body to stretch, release tension, and find balance after the strengthening portion.

Please bring a couple of dumbbells or resistance bands, and of course, your yoga mat.

Meet Terri Cooper Space (she/her), a yoga instructor with a passion for breakthrough moments. Since 2003, Terri has been guiding students through yoga practices, emphasizing the importance of connection and trauma-informed teaching. As the Founder of Connection Coalition, a non-profit certifying individuals nationwide as Trauma Informed Connectors, Terri extends her expertise beyond the studio, teaching in jails, shelters, rehabs, and youth centers. Based in North Miami, Terri, along with her husband, daughter, and furry friends, is the proud owner of 305 Yoga, a humble studio empowering regular people since 2006.

Dr. Mariel Little is a lifelong lover of movement. She started a long career as an athlete at a young age and won multiple national titles in martial arts and volleyball. Yoga entered her life serendipitously in 2007 at a time when she needed it most, depleted from the rigors of a competitive lifestyle. She quickly became a dedicated student and studied with many wise teachers across different styles of practice. Mariel began teaching yoga after completing her first teacher training in 2013. Since then, she has participated in numerous other trainings, but she is most grateful for the opportunity to study with Richard Freeman & Mary Taylor in July 2022.

Inspired by the healing power of the yoga practice, Mariel completed a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from University of Colorado School of Medicine in 2019. Since then, she intentionally incorporates her skills as a yoga instructor into her work as a Physical Therapist, including yoga classes for specific populations with medical conditions. Outside of her full-time work as a PT, Mariel continues to teach and study yoga. She is the founder of the Sangha Yoga Project and runs a private physical therapy practice specializing in yoga-related injuries and pain. Mariel's yoga classes regularly integrate concepts of physical therapy so that students build strength and mobility for a more confident and resilient yoga practice. Active Align Yoga

Allow Vanessa to take you on a blissful 60-minute Yin Yoga journey. Slow down, relax, and enjoy all the benefits that this slower, more passive form of yoga has to offer. This class involves mostly seated & supine postures that passively stretch the body to release tension in the connective tissues and joints. Props such as pillows, blankets, bolsters, and blocks are recommended for this class.

Vanessa is a 500h RYT Yoga instructor who has shared her passion for yoga and teaching since 2015. Vanessa is a dedicated Ashtanga practitioner who believes in the value of incorporating Yin into her practice. She is also trained in Hot Yoga & Yin Yoga and received both 200hr and 300hr teacher training certifications from Tim Feldmann & Kino MacGregor through Miami Life Center. 
It truly nourishes her soul to help people reconnect with their true selves and with their bodies. It keeps her humble and grateful. For Vanessa, Yoga is not something that she does, rather it is who she is and how she tries to live her life. She loves to teach beginners yoga as it reminds her of her own journey. She hosts yoga retreats around the world.

Yin Bliss

Dive into the World of Ashtanga in a thoughtful manner. The class starts with sun salutations and the standing postures, followed by the seated asanas up to Janu Sirsasana. We will learn the count, learn to modify the poses if needed and how to use props in a way that they support our practice. So this class is very beginner friendly but also highly recommended for people who already have an existing ashtanga practice and don’t have much time. The finish sequence at the end of every class will help us to calm our nervous system and relax afterwards.

Anna is a YA E-RYT with over 10,000 hours of teaching experience, based in Stuttgart, Southern Germany. She fell in love with yoga over 20 years ago. Anna became a yoga teacher in 2013, and two years later, she opened her very own yoga studio in the heart of Stuttgart. While her main teachings are focused on Ashtanga, she also teaches Vinyasa, Yin, and Therapeutic Yoga. Her heart beats for Ashtanga, and it is her main focus for her practice. That is why she did the API with Miami Life Center and the AT with Kino MacGregor and Tim Feldmann. She is also the headteacher of her own 200- and 300-hour teacher training. Anna's classes are deeply rooted in the traditions of yoga but also heartwarming and funny. Anna thinks that having a good time with yourself on the mat is way more important than mastering a pose.

Ashtanga Quarter Primary

The foundation of the Buddhist path begins with four powerful reflections that transform how we understand life, death, action, and suffering.

Known as the Four Mind-Changings — or the “common preliminaries” — these contemplations turn the mind toward practice and open the heart to wisdom and compassion.

In this four-week series, Cory guides you through: The preciousness of human life, Impermanence and death, Karma and interdependence, Samsara and dukkha. 

Each session includes teachings, guided meditation, and practical reflections to support integration into daily life. This series will offer a clear, grounded entry into the heart of Buddhist practice.

In 2009 after teaching a yoga class in Washington, DC a student approached and asked Cory if he would like to be the yoga teacher on a 10-day trip to Nepal. He accepted the offer on the spot and in 2010 went on his first Nepal adventure. It changed the course of his life. 

Fast forward to 2019 and he has resigned from a “successful” career as a PhD Scientist/International Policy Expert at the FDA and moved to Nashville to open a yoga studio (Yoga Shala Nashville). In the interim years (between 2010 - 2017) he returned to Nepal four more times to co-lead this pilgrimage – each time taking on a bigger role. Then covid happened and travel plans were stalled. It was during that time that he was given the opportunity to take over, rebranding as The Spiritual Pilgrim. In 2022, after the covid hiatus, pilgrimages resumed and now TSP has expanded to offer multiple pilgrimages each year — including to India and Bhutan!

Cory is a highly experienced (20+ years) yoga teacher and meditator. He is honored to serve as the pilgrimage leader, meditation teacher (and sometimes yoga teacher) for TSP programs. He guides in the style of the Tergar tradition of Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche and is continually working to develop his own practice and teaching skills.  He is a member of the 2024-5 class of the Tergar Meditation Teacher Program.

Paige discovered yoga while cross-training for the Marine Corps Marathon over 13 ago, and has been practicing daily ever since. She's been a daily Mysore-Style Ashtanga practitioner and teacher for 10 years, channeling many of the lessons learned on her mat while teaching.

Silvana Lois completed her first 200 hours of teacher training in power yoga with Paul Toliuszis in 2012. Soon after, she fell in love with the Ashtanga Yoga Method and completed another 200 hours of training under Tim Feldmann and Kino MacGregor. Continuing under the teachers of Miami Life Center, she then went on to complete the 2 year apprenticeship. Silvana also has a daily meditation practice after completing a 10 day Vipassana course in 2019. Silvana is currently a student and teacher of Ashtanga Yoga at Miami Life Center.
